Dheavii Farms is a small family owned and operated farm in a rural village known as Cowwarr in Victoria.  Dheavii Farms was established in the year of 2017 at the south-eastern Victorian village Yannathan with 100 laying hens to produce chicken eggs naturally and organically possible by practicing best old school approach of raising chickens.

 

Dheavii Farms has recently purchased a property of 85 acres in Cowwarr with the intent to grow bigger and better without impacting the natural habitats that our hens practice. This farm has nutrition rich soil with natural setting which is mainly used for sheep and cattle for decades. With a rich heritage history of Cowwarr in the region known for irrigation and dairy farming and surrounded by the historical gold mine at Walhalla, Thompson River that flows through Cowwarr Wier and the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail passing through, the new farm is now a home of our happy ranger hens that are truly practicing their natural behavior.

Dheavii Farms paddock egg farming produces genuine free-range eggs from our true ranger hens which is less than 100 birds per hectare. Our birds have access to open range during the daytime under the surveillance of our three lovely Maremma guardian dogs and practice all their natural behaviors like flying, scratching, stretching, dust bath etc. The birds are given access to fresh pasture from new range area every week by moving their luxury trailer base houses.  At night, our birds are housed in their mobile shed in small numbers for a comfortable shelter and perching.

 

Our hens are fed with near organic feed that is not chemically treated or processed and no hormone or antibiotics added. The supplementary feed that our hens consume is purely a vegetation meal in the sense no added meat or fish ingredient in the grain mix. With the great, secure, stress free natural farm environment our birds lay genuine free range chicken eggs that are truly notable as "Cowwarr Fresh Paddock Eggs”.
